I am back home in my perfect little 40 square meter palace, after a trip down under to surprise my family. It was my first Christmas in Australia in 5 years, and my husband's first-ever summer Christmas! It cost just about everything we had, but we knew we were supposed to go. The timing was so right to be with family, for multiple reasons. It was an absolute shock to see the devastation of the fires, to breathe in unhealthy air, and to not see a typical vibrant blue Australian sky. But we were privileged to be there at a time where we could love on my parents and siblings, as well as get some sun and beach time. The flight ticket was incredible, as it was both the cheapest option, but also with a more reputable airline: Emirates. Phew... much better than another company experience that I will refrain from mentioning. We had experienced a less-delightful flight the year before...
Some highlights were: eating mango for breakfast, digging through old photos and home vides, and reading through my school books and journals from as young as 6! Being able to share that with my husband was so special. A major highlight was the look on my parent's faces when we knocked on the door and completely surprised them!
Being with family is a treasure that I have learnt to really value, as our time together is now limited, having become so very international.
We spent New Year's eve in Switzerland with my German family, and took a week to relax and recover from jet-lag and make more time for each other. Being home at the starting line of 2020, we are more than ready to win at everything. We have a vision for the year, our pursuit of God, how we want to live with excellence in every area of life from self care to leadership and character. We spent two days cleaning and re-arranging our apartment, then today I had some wonderful "me" time where I finally painted my nails, tried my new skin care products from Christmas, and got to work at editing this new initiative of Sister Talk! (Feeling like a Queen).
Much of my inspiration for this year is coming from Proverbs 31. I am excited to excel and grow into every area as an excellent woman of God.
We are very expectant for the new year, and have written lists of goals, dreams, hopes. That is one thing we do really well. We love to sit together and write lists of dreams - ridiculously huge ones and small detailed ones.
Then we look back through the lists and see what God did! Happy new year to you sisters! What are your hopes, goals and dreams? Let's see them happen together!
